About us
San Francisco de Asis is an independent non-profit organization operating in Nicaragua since 1993. Its purpose is to provide a fair opportunity at a dignified life for the poorest within the country.
The pursuit of its objective has led the organization to continuously expand its services, by creating inter-dependent, yet complimentary projects that serve basic human needs, including: nutrition, education, health care, psychological counseling, housing and vocational training.
SFA volunteers are dedicated to service and driven by their compassion. They possess self-awareness, inmense gratitude and a self-induced responsibility towards the less fortunate. Their commitment to the less fortunate is the source of their fortune.
Contribute
Everyone deserves to lead a dignified life, unfortunately, poverty often prevents this. We believe poverty is evitable. SFA works to reverse the misfortune by providing opportunities at a dignified life and a better future for Nicaragua’s poorest citizens. However, with half the country living in poverty, with less than a dollar a day, the task is a monumental one. Our success is dependent on the strength of our network and generosity of our donors and collaborators.
By unifying efforts across borders we do not lack the resources to fight poverty; we lack the universal awareness and the local mechanisms to do so. SFA provides a proven mechanism and we invite you to become a part of this effort by donating either: resources, skills, or capital to our cause.
100% of the donations we receive go directly to beneficiaries. Our small office is maintained completely by the revenue we generate ensuring that what you give to SFA is given in full to the Nicaraguans who need it most. We are happy to answer your questions, provide detailed financial information as well as referrals.
